TEAMS CLAIM TITLE OF THE 'BEST IN THE MIDWEST'

The 2012 edition of the Dick's Sporting Goods Midwest Cup wrapped up Sunday afternoon under beautiful blue skies in Maryland Heights, MO. 

Champions were crowned in six different divisions and four teams earned the right to compete in the Dick's Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions, the national championship for youth and high school age club teams. 

In the high school Elite division, MO 22 locked up a place in the national championship by defeating the STL Shamrox by a score of 9 to 2. 

The Shamrox club did not go home empty handed, however, as the younger squad defeated Proelieator in the Rising Championship game, 7 to 5, and earned a bid.

Other champions were the Redshirts in U15A, True Wisconsin in U15B, Team Minnesota in U13A, and Arsenal in U13B. 

The Redshirts and Team Minnesota both earned bids by virtue of winning an "A" division.
